Over the past few years I've visited all of the Catholic churches in Nassau County. I enjoy sitting in the pews and looking around at the alter, the paintings, the stained glass windows and the statuary, all while thinking about all the time, effort, and love that went into making a Catholic church such a special place. I decided to make this list of the most beautiful churches in Nassau County as a way of expressing my admiration of the beauty that these churches give to us all. TOP FIVE THINGS TO DO IN NASSAU COUNTY, NEW YORK

1-SAGAMORE HILL : Way up in the north east corner of Nassau County is one of the nations most famous houses.  The home of the 26th President of the United States, Sagamore Hill. Theodore Roosevelt lived in this house for a good part of his adult life and the home served as the summer White House during his presidency. The home is filled with antiques and memorabilia from his long and eventful life.   Take a guided tour of the 23-room mansion and then tour the beautiful grounds that lead down to the Long Island Sound.
